In recognition of his professional accomplishments and community service, the Alabama Optometric Association chose Dr Teichmiller as 2006 Optometrist of the Year. Dr Chris Teichmiller has recently been joined by Dr Kim Ocampo,OD. Your Eyecare Appointment
When you come in for your appointment, we make sure to schedule ample time for your eye exam so you will never feel rushed. You will receive a thorough eye exam and then your doctor will explain the findings and treatment options.
Our office is equipped with the latest technology to detect any problems you may have with your vision, years earlier than with standard equipment. We recommend taking adavantage of the painless, dilation free Optomap eye exam which scans the retina to detect retinal eye diseases, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes related eye problems in their early stages.
Once you have completed your eye exam and your doctor has explained the findings, you have many treatment options available to you. We will be happy answer any questions that you may have.
The Latest Vision Technology
Within our office we provide many of the latest vision technology to help every member of your family get the most out of life.
Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) - CRT is a non surgical technigue to improve your vision. You wear special contact lenses while you sleep that gently reshape the cornea. You simply remove the lenses in the morning and enjoy clear vision all day, without the use of glasses and daytime contacts. This gentle process is safe and effective even for children.
Contact Lenses - Our doctors are highly skilled at fitting contact lenses even for people who have had trouble wearing contact lenses in the past. We carry all contact lenses including:
High- Oxygen silicone hydrogel- Soft lenses- Gas permeable- Disposable- Extended wear- Astigmatic-Bifocals-Colors and more which means that even if you had trouble with dry eyes or allergies in the past, we have a solution to fit you. Once you get your prescription you can even order your lenses here on our website from the comfort of your own home.
LASIK - If you are considering LASIK surgery, our doctors will perform an extensive eye exam to check your vision and eye health to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. If this is a good solution for you, we will refer you to an experienced, board certified eye surgeon to perform the surgery. You will then return ot our office for follow up care by your eye doctor.
Eyewear for Fashion, Work and Fun - You will find more than 1,000 frames and sunglasses in our optical boutique. Our knowledgable staff specializes in helping you find the right pair for each member of your family with choices for every budget. We also help you with glasses for every occasion, anti-glare lenses for working on the computer and night driving, protective sport glasses and polarized lenses for outdoor activities.
Low Vision Devices - If you have lost vision, due to an eye disease or injury, you will find tools to help you get the most out of your vision. We carry low vision devices such as hand held magnifiers, custom-made telescopic glasses and the latest in electronic video magnifiers to help you.
